Alternative to Tap Carry

Tap Carry puts the card into Apple Wallet very cleanly. If you are looking elsewhere, it is usually because the card alone is no longer enough.

Comparison verified on 31 July 2026

In three lines

Tap Carry is a loyalty card in Apple Wallet, with a free plan up to five active passes and a paid plan with no ceiling. Google Wallet is announced but not there yet, and win-back comes down to one notification a week. Kanz costs something from day one, but the card works on both wallets and an agent tells you who has stopped coming and writes the message.

Every line in the table comes from a public page belonging to the vendor in question, with the link and the date it was checked directly underneath. When a vendor does not publish something, we write "not published" instead of inventing a figure. When their site says nothing either way, we write "not stated". If you spot a mistake, tell us and we will fix it.

Why people look for an alternative to Tap Carry

Three limits, all readable on their own page.

  • The card is Apple first: their page announces Google Wallet as coming, so some of your customers are left out today.
  • The paid plan gives one notification a week. To catch somebody who is drifting, a weekly notification rarely lands at the right moment.
  • Nothing on their site says who spots the customers who stopped coming back: that is on you.

Who wins, and when

Both columns are the same size because both cases are real. If nothing on the left speaks to you, the answer is on the right, and the reverse is just as true.

Pick Tap Carry if

  • You want to start without paying: their free plan holds five active passes, with your branding and the analytics.
  • Your customers are almost all on iPhone, so Google Wallet is not missed.
  • You only want the card, and one notification a week is enough.

Pick Kanz if

  • Your customers are on both systems and you do not want to leave anyone out.
  • You want to be told who has not come back, not only how many stamps were given.
  • You want to reach people where they actually reply, on WhatsApp or Telegram.
  • You serve in French, Arabic or English and want an interface that reads right to left.

Moving from one to the other

There is no file to transfer, and it goes faster than it looks.

  1. Create your Kanz account and choose the reward: that is the only decision that matters.
  2. Print the new QR and put it next to the old one for two weeks.
  3. Let both cards run: your regulars rescan on their next visit, with nothing to install.
  4. Once the new card has taken, remove the old QR and stop the previous subscription.

Kanz does not take in an existing customer file, and that is deliberate: each person signs up themselves from your QR or your link, and that gesture is what gives their consent to be contacted.

What we get asked about this comparison

Do my customers have to install anything again?
They add the new card to their wallet on the first scan, in ten seconds, with no app and no account to create. The old card stays with them until they delete it.
{name} has a free plan, so why pay?
Because that plan stops at five active passes, and because Kanz does not sell the card: it sells noticing an absence and writing at the right moment. If you only want a card, their free plan is a very good place to start.
What if my customers are on Android?
Kanz issues the card into Google Wallet today. {name} announces that support as coming, so it was not yet available on the check date shown at the top of this page.
